Songs of hope and peace

Monday, May 11 at 7:00 PM

The Summit Interfaith Council will present Songs of Hope and Peace Spring Concert at Temple Sinai (208 Summit Avenue, Summit). Local houses of worship share music in a night to build community. The Saint John’s Choir will be participating. The concert is free and a reception will follow.

The Summit Chorale’s season finale features concert works that focus on events that shaped the history of our country, and the leaders who ushered us through them. From Richard Nixon to Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln, this program reflects on both the tragedy and triumph of U.S. American History. The concert includes movements from Randall Thompson’s The Testament of Freedom, which uses texts from the Declaration of Independence, Florence Price’s Abraham Lincoln Walks at Midnight, and selections from John Adams’ operas Doctor Atomic and Nixon in China.

Tickets are $25 in advance / $30 at the door / $15 Students
